RSIS 2017

10th Radio Scouting & Internet Seminar 2017, Estonia

It is a great pleasure to invite you to the Radio-Scouting and Internet Seminar, scheduled for the spring of 2017 in Estonia.
The seminar is aimed at those leaders responsible at a national level for Jamboree On The Air / Internet and related programme activities.
International exchanges of ideas and contacts between youngsters are of utmost importance in society nowadays. Internet and amateur radio contacts have proven to be excellent tools to bring scouts in touch which one another.

Since 1984, National JOTA-JOTI Coordinators and their team members have met about once every 4 years to co-ordinate activities and exchange ideas to improve the youth programmes.

The world JOTA-JOTI Team adopted a new formula for this seminar series. This edition will be open to participation over an on-line connection as well, so NJCs from further away can participate in a number of sessions. The seminar promises to be an exciting opportunity for NJCs to meet and help shape the future of JOTA-JOTI.

To register for the 10th RSIS, please contact your national JOTA-JOTI Coordinator.

Youngsters on the Air

1609018_672647026135751_781153490_o-01Hi All JOTA-JOTI Participants!

I hope you had a great experience this year and made lots of new friends during JOTA-JOTI weekend. Those of you who would like to get more into the amateur radio world, after having first glimpse of it during JOTA-JOTI, there is another exciting way of participating and making new friends on radio frequencies. It’s called YOTA, which stands for Youngsters on the Air.

YOTA is organized by young radio amateurs. The basic idea is to get beginners on the air, those who are interested about radio amateur work, but have not yet had the opportunity to do so.

ym_grey_450Every year there is YOTA month, which is going on right now in December. YOTA is mainly organized in IARU Region 1 (Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Northern Asia), but other areas are coming along.

The best way to get started is to read more about YOTA at http://www.ham-yota.com/ or from their Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/youngstersontheair/ or their Twitter at https://twitter.com/hamyota

Then contact your local radio amateur club and arrange with them a shorter or longer visit to jump into a totally new and exciting world!
